Local Restaurant Group, which operates popular restaurants Hambrgr and Undefined, is expanding its Hamilton footprint.

Matty’s Hot Chicken has been operating in St. Catharines and as a pop-up on King William St in Hamilton. Now, the chicken restaurant has found a brick-and-mortar home on Lock St. South.

Matty’s prides itself on offering locally sourced chicken from Ontario farmers. You can order fried chicken in pieces, strips, on a bun, or between waffles while choosing from five levels of spice: down south (no heat), mild, hot!, damn hot!, and hot AF!.

And, just because, Matty’s also offers its signature Kreamy Krisp Donuts (not a typo).

With Donut Monster and Bitten merely steps away, the Kirkendall neighbourhood may be cornering the sweets market in Hamilton.

Matty’s takes over the residential-turned-commercial space near the corner of Locke and Charlton Ave and is slated for a January 2022 opening.
