Hamilton’s CF Lime Ridge Mall announced Monday afternoon (Jan. 17) it will close early due to weather.

“Out of an abundance of caution, Cadillac Fairview will be closing CF Lime Ridge at 4pm today due to inclement weather in the Greater Hamilton Area,” an Instagram post shared shortly after 1 p.m. said.

“Your safety is our top priority and today’s early closure will help shoppers and employees to safely navigate the roads.”

Hamilton remains under a winter storm warning as a low-pressure system tracking south of the Great Lakes has brought more than 40 cm of snow so far, with more to come.

Wind gusts of up to 60 km/h are expected throughout the day and into the evening which could cause visibility to be reduced to near zero at times.

In the meantime, CF said regular hours of operation at Lime Ridge Mall are expected to resume on Tuesday (Jan. 18).
