For people whose ‘chain’ source of happiness is biking – the time has come to saddle up and explore the city.

Mark those calendars, as Bike Month returns next week, and the city of Hamilton has teamed up with Cycle Hamilton to organize the fifteenth annual Bike Day on June 1.

The event is set to take place in the City Hall forecourt where the city staff aim to honour the cycling community in Hamilton while providing valuable educational resources to commuters eager to adopt cycling as an alternative mode of transportation.

One of the highlights of the event is the opportunity for participants to join one of the six group rides originating from different areas across the city. The group rides, departing from Ancaster, Gage Park, Dundas, McMaster, Buchanan Park, and Montgomery Park, will culminate in a collective arrival at the City Hall forecourt, signalling the official start of the celebrations.

According to organizers, the drop-in event will also focus on education and community engagement – attendees can explore various informative booths, indulge in refreshments such as coffee and snacks, benefit from bike tune-ups courtesy, and grab a copy of the newly released 2023 Hamilton Bike Map.

Additionally, a limited supply of exclusive 2023 Bike Month t-shirts will be up for grabs, for those who arrive early.

Interested individuals are encouraged to register in advance on the official web page, for a chance to win one of three $100 VISA gift cards.
