Hamilton teacher under investigation for ‘sexual violence and sexual harassment:’ police

A teacher in Hamilton is under investigation by police after they were accused on various social media posts of sexual harassment and sexual violence.

The Hamilton Police Service (HPS) issued a statement on Friday (Sept. 10), confirming the investigation.

“(We are) aware of the information that is being circulated on social media regarding reports of sexual violence and sexual harassment associated to a Catholic local secondary school,” said a spokesperson for HPS.

According to the social media posts, the accused are employed at Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School.

Police encouraged anyone with information to contact the Sexual Assault Unit at 905-540-5553. Reports can also be filed online at hamiltonpolice.on.ca.

“We want all survivors of sexual violence to know that we believe them,” police added.
