A fairly large power outage in the northeast corner of Hamilton is expected to last until mid-afternoon.

Alectra Utilities says there is an outage in the area of Barton St. E. and Burlington St. E., just north of Tim Hortons Field. Around 1,978 business and home customers are affected. Crews have been sent out, and the expected time for power to come back on for all affected customers is 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday (July 12).

As of 2 p.m., there were 157 affected customers. Their hydro is expected to be back by 5 p.m.

Progress by Alectra in restoring service can be tracked at horizonutilities.com.
