Hamilton police ask hunters to stand down as search continues for missing Ancaster senior

The search for a missing Ancaster senior continues on Tuesday (Nov. 2) near the area where she was last seen.
According to police, 78-year-old Denise Gloster was last seen at approximately 8:00 p.m. Sunday in her residence in the area of Mineral Springs Road and Slote Road in Ancaster.
In an update provided Tuesday morning, efforts to locate Gloster remain ongoing and have involved community partners including the Hamilton Fire Department and Mohawk College, which provided drones to help search the rural area Gloster is known to walk frequently.
Police said Gloster, who suffers from early-onset dementia, is known to walk in the Dundas, Ancaster, Flamborough and Hamilton areas.
“Area residents are asked to check their properties and any outbuildings on their properties,” police said.
“Given the rural nature of the search, anyone hunting in the area is asked to stand down as there are a high number of volunteers/search team members in the vicinity.”

Gloster is described as:
- 78 years-of-age
- 5’7
- 130lbs
- Thin build
- Shoulder length grey hair
- Possibly wearing black jeans
