Hamilton motorists who rely on the Burlington Canal Lift Bridge can expect delays for at least three days this summer.

Maintenance work will lead to lane closures on June 29 and 30 and July 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Two lanes are expected to remain open with traffic being redirected by on-site flag persons.

The bridge will remain open to cyclists and pedestrians, and marine traffic is not expected to be affected during the lane closures.

The schedule is also subject to change, depending on weather conditions.

The Burlington Canal Lift Bridge is a vertical lift bridge located on the north side of the Burlington Bay James N. Allan Skyway.

Built in 1962, the 116-metre-long bridge is the sixth bridge to span the Burlington Canal since 1830.

The bridge allows vessels to enter and exit from Hamilton Harbour into Lake Ontario.
