A Hamilton man has been arrested and charged in relation to a violent spree in the city’s downtown core over the weekend that sent a person to hospital with serious injuries.

According to Hamilton Police, on Sunday (Nov. 21) just before 8 p.m., a man entered the Hasty Market on John Street South. He reportedly approached a staff member, demanded cash and then proceeded to assault the staff member with a black pipe/baton.

Police said the suspect fled on foot a short time later, but not before engaging in further mischief throughout the store.
