Sherwood Secondary school on the East Mountain is closed Monday (Nov. 30) to “support a police matter.”
In a Tweet sent around 6:30 a.m., the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) said that remote learning for all Sherwood students would be undertaken as the building remains closed.
.@Sherwood_HWDSB will conduct remote learning for all students Nov. 30 as the physical building is closed to staff and students to support a police matter. Learning will continue online as per student’s regular timetable. School re-opening details will come as soon as possible.

Hamilton Police say they are in the process of investigating an online threat made towards the school.
So far, police said in a Tweet, the reported threat remains unsubstantiated.
HPS continues to investigate on-line info about a possible threat made towards Sherwood SS. At this time we have not located any evidence to substantiate. As a precautionary measure, @HWDSB
closed the school. For further information about the closure please contact them.#HamOnt— Hamilton Police (@HamiltonPolice) November 30, 2020
