Hamilton has the third worst COVID-19 positivity in Ontario

The city of Hamilton once again has the third highest COVID-19 percent positivity rate out of all of Ontario’s public health units, according to recent data.

Toronto-based research group ICES ranked all 34 public health units in Ontario for the week of August 29 to September 4 based on their percent positivity (percentage of positive tests in the area).

Hamilton is listed third at 5.87%, while Ontario overall is listed eighth at 3.43%.

For all Ontario residents, the overall percent positivity among those tested for COVID-19 during the week of August 29 was 3.4%, an increase of 0.2% from the previous week.
