Halton Hills owners of missing baby donkey plead for his safe return

The owners of a three-week old donkey named “Sebastian” are pleading for his return after he was taken from a farm in the Halton Hills area

The Halton Regional Police Service are investigating the theft which occurred sometime between late Thursday, August 19 evening and early Friday, August 20 morning at the farm located near Trafalgar Road North.

“Sebastian” is still nursing from its mother and is too young to be separated from his mother, who has been noticeably distraught at this time.

Owner Ana Paula Ficher, in a statement, pleaded that “there’s a good chance that somebody might know somebody” and was begging for whoever took the donkey to return him and to “just have a heart and know he needs his mommy.”

The donkey has no discernible markings.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have knowledge of the whereabouts of the animal or any information regarding this theft to contact Halton Regional Police Service – No. 1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4747, ext. 2415 or 2416.
