Although last year’s campaign just ended, with a record $12.5 million raised, the United Way Halton & Hamilton is already looking forward to the 2024-25 campaign.
To kick things off, the organization has announced Claude DeMone, the regional president of RBC’s southwestern Ontario region, will be the 2024-2025 Campaign Cabinet chair, succeeding Matt Wickham in the role.
DeMone’s tenure with Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) spans more than 30 years where he leads a team of nearly 3,000 personal and commercial bankers, partners, and support teams.
He is a long-time United Way supporter and served as a United Way Campaign Cabinet volunteer this past year. DeMone also co-chaired RBC’s Employee Giving Campaign across Canada in 2021 and 2022.
Active in his community, DeMone also supports the Ride to Conquer Cancer, Autism Canada, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. He fosters RBC’s commitment to helping communities prosper, which includes support for more than 150 community partners across Southwestern Ontario.
“I’m very grateful to Matt for his exceptional leadership and dedication to the Campaign Cabinet during last year’s campaign. His guidance has set a strong foundation, and I’m eager to build on the momentum he has created,” said DeMone.
“As we look ahead, I recognize the significant work that lies ahead of us. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and work closely with our dedicated volunteers on the Campaign Cabinets and committees to continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families in Halton and Hamilton.”
United Way also announced the Major Giving Cabinet will continue its work in the community under the leadership of Trent Ogilvie in the 2024-25 campaign season.
As chair of the Major Giving Cabinet, Ogilvie has been instrumental in rallying community members to support the inaugural Local Love Community Match initiative. His dedication to connecting generous supporters with United Way’s mission ensures that those most vulnerable have access to essential programs and services.
“I am incredibly proud of the work done by the 2023-2024 Major Giving Cabinet. Together, we successfully rallied philanthropists in the community to help increase support to the vital programs helping our community,” said Ogilvie.
