Guests get stuck upside down on ride at Canada’s Wonderland

Guests briefly got stuck on a ride at Canada’s Wonderland on Sunday.

It happened on the Lumberjack, which swings guests in 360-degree loops on two hydraulic arms.

“Yesterday, the ride did not complete its normal cycle, causing it to stop,” a spokesperson for the Vaughan amusement park told INsauga.com.

“All guests were safely unloaded and attended to by first aid staff. No injuries were reported.”

The ride was stopped for nine minutes “before returning to ground position,” Wonderland said, with a representative confirming the guests were upside down at the time.

After that, it took 10 minutes for guests to exit the ride and the station.

The park said it’s working to determine what caused the incident.

“Safety is a cornerstone of our business, and the ride will remain closed until the necessary inspections and any required repairs have been completed,” the spokesperson said.

In 2023, guests got suck upside down on the Lumberjack for nearly half an hour.

Wonderland spokesperson Grace Peacock said at the time that there were 45 people on board.

First aid staff examined all affected guests in that incident, and two reported chest pains, but they received treatment at the park’s medical centre and did not need any further help, Peacock said.

Meanwhile, in another incident recently at Wonderland, the Leviathan was stopped when it was noticed that a guest reportedly removed their seat belt.

The guest was then kicked out of the park.
