Hamilton police are investigating a hate crime at a local school.
The outside of St. Agnes elementary school was reportedly tagged with homophobic and anti-Semitic graffiti overnight on Sunday.
The incident occurred between 1:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. at the school at 80 Colcrest St. in Stoney Creek.
Detectives are appealing to the public for help.
“Residents and business owners are asked to check their security cameras for any suspicious activity,” said the Hamilton Police Service. “Alternatively, if you were driving in the area and have dash camera footage that would be suitable for review, please also contact investigators.”
“Hate crime in Hamilton is not acceptable. Left unchecked, hate crime can have a far-reaching impact on communities,” said police.
