The GO-VAXX bus is coming to Durham this weekend, with stops in Oshawa Saturday and Pickering Sunday.

The Ontario government has partnered with Metrolinx to provide a safe, reliable and convenient option for people to receive their COVID‑19 vaccine. GO buses have been converted to serve as mobile vaccine clinics to get COVID‑19 vaccines directly to people, wherever they are located – travelling to malls, festivals, community hubs and events across Southern Ontario and beyond.

All GO-VAXX buses provide:

the Pfizer COVID‑19 vaccine for first, second and booster doses for adults and youth ages 12 and up

the paediatric Pfizer COVID‑19 vaccine for children aged five to 11

The bus will be at the Jess Hann Branch of the Oshawa Public Library off Wentworth Street Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and in Pickering Sunday from 10 a.m. to six p.m. at the Chestnut Hill Recreation Complex on Valley Farm Road in the city’s downtown.

Each bus carries up to 300 doses per day and operates as a fully functioning vaccine clinic with the necessary supplies and trained staff to provide assistance to people and ensure vaccines are administered safely. All COVID‑19 safety precautions will be followed on board, including the required pre-vaccination screening and post-vaccination monitoring.

The buses are fully accessible.

If you would like to get vaccinated at a GO-VAXX bus or mobile indoor clinic, remember to:

  • bring your health card — if you do not have a health card or if it’s expired, bring another form of government-issued photo identification such as a driver’s licence, passport, status card or birth certificate
  • eat and drink something before you arrive to prevent feeling faint or dizzy while being vaccinated
  • dress for the weather in case there is a line-up
  • wear clothing that allows for easy access to your upper arm, such as a loose-fitting top or a t-shirt
  • bring a mask as you may be required to wear one

GO-VAXX vaccine clinics are by appointment or walk-in. To book an appointment, visit the COVID-19 vaccination portal or call the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at  1-833-943-3900.
