Ongoing construction on rail tracks will affect GO Transit riders in Oakville and Burlington for the next couple of months.

Beginning this weekend, Lakeshore West rail service will be temporarily modified every weekend until Sunday, June 9, to allow for critical track work along the corridor according to Metrolinx, the company that runs the service.

During the following weekends, Lakeshore West trains will operate every 15 minutes between Union Station to Oakville GO, and then hourly between Oakville to West Harbour GO stations:

  • May 4 and 5
  • May 11 and 12
  • May 18 to 20 (until 1 p.m. each day)
  • May 25 and 26
  • June 1 and 2
  • June 8 and 9

On May 4 and 5 only, some scheduled trains between Aldershot GO and West Harbour GO will be operating via GO Bus replacement. Riders are advised to check schedules before travelling.

GO Bus connection times will also be adjusted, there may be longer than usual wait times.

Services to Niagara Falls GO remain unaffected.

“We are encouraging riders to visit our website to plan their trips as schedules and connection times have changed for upcoming weekends. Customers can also check the GO Transit Service Updates page for real-time details,” said a Metrolinx spokesperson.
