The search for an escaped prisoner has extended Canada-wide after a man breached his release from an Ontario correctional facility.

Kingston Police said on Sunday that Dylan Doey, 25, had escaped from Henry Traill Community Correctional Centre.

The 25-year-old was on parole from the facility, which is similar to a half-way house, according to reports.

Police said he isn’t from Kingston but is known to frequent the area as well as Timmins and Iroquois Falls Area.

But after days on the run, a Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Doey’s arrest on breach of his statutory release, and police are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact investigators.

Doey is described as standing around five-foot-seven and weighing 160 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes, multiple tattoos on both arms and is believed to be wearing all black.

Police said Doey fled east towards Bayswater Place and Queen Mary Road.

He is not believed to be armed.

“For public safety reasons, Kingston police advise community members to be cautious, and to call 911 if Doey is seen or information on his whereabouts is known,” police said on the weekend.

Anyone with information about Doey’s whereabouts is asked to contact the OPP by calling 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips may also be provided to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 or visiting www.ontariocrimestoppers.ca.

When you contact Crime Stoppers you stay anonymous, never have to testify, and could receive a $2,000 reward.
