Police are searching for a prisoner who officers say escaped from a correctional centre in Ontario.

Kingston police said that on Sunday at around 7:30 p.m., 25-year-old Dylan Doey escaped from Henry Traill Community Correctional Centre.

It’s located on Bath Road near Centennial Drive in Kingston, next to Collins Bay Institution.

Police said he fled east towards Bayswater Place and Queen Mary Road.

“An exhaustive search of the area is underway,” police said in a news release issued Sunday.

“For public safety reasons, Kingston police advise community members to be cautious, and to call 911 if Doey is seen or information on his whereabouts is known.”

Police said it’s not believed he’s armed.

“Doey is not from the Kingston area and may be attempting to leave the city,” police said.

He was described as five-foot-seven, 160 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes, multiple tattoos on both arms and is believed to be wearing all black.
