Frost advisory in effect for Greater Toronto Area this weekend

A frost advisory is in effect for the Greater Toronto Area this weekend.

Temperatures are expected to fall to the freezing mark overnight into early Sunday morning in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Halton Region, Hamilton and the Windsor area, Environment and Climate Change Canada said in the advisory.

Frost may damage some crops in frost-prone areas, the advisory stated.

“Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas,” Environment Canada said. “Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.”

Temperatures in southern Ontario are expected to be seasonable with highs around 9 to 11 C and lows down to the freezing mark overnight.
