The Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre (OPNC) is having a dance party and Oakville residents are invited.

The dance party with the Oakville Academy for the Arts is one of several scheduled events headlining this year’s Oak Park Fall Fair being held on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., at the Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre.

Other fun events include children’s entertainer Lenny Graft, Jason on Saxophone, artists Bandology, Grace Academy of Dance and Performing Arts, a Fat Clown act and top the night off by grabbing your own blanket and chairs and watch the Minions movie under the stars.

You can also order a BBQ diner ahead of the event for $7.

There’s lots to do and it’s all for a good cause.

Started by six women in 1999, Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre says it has since served over 17,571 people.

OPNC programs support seniors, families, children, people who are homeless and/or living in poverty, and multicultural communities.

They have helped provide fitness, guides, first aid, food banks, microloans and utility payment support.

“Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre is a welcoming community, supporting each other through diverse programs and resources to build friendships, strengthen our children and create healthy neighbourhoods,” said Ward 5 Town and Regional Councillor Jeff Knoll.

“As a registered charity we strive to alleviate poverty, provide education, support recreation and social opportunities for people of all abilities.”

The OPNC says its non-institutional barrier-free space that’s welcoming to everyone.

We believe in supporting the whole community regardless of income level, age or background.”

Admission to the Oak Park Fall Fair is free. The Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre is located on 2200 Sawgrass Drive.

Residents can also help out by entering the online silent action for the over 100 items available that have been donated.
