The provincial government has added $2.1 million in funding to build a new Catholic elementary school in Milton.

The new money brings the total investment to $24.8M for the Halton Catholic District School Board facility.

Once completed, this project will provide 671 elementary spaces and 88 childcare spaces for local families. The investment is part of the Ontario government’s commitment to providing $14 billion to support school construction, repair and renewal over 10 years.

“The funding for a new Catholic elementary school in Milton is great news for our community,” said Parm Gill, MPP for Milton.

“Our government continues to invest in our community and support hard working parents, teachers, and students. We remain committed to keeping students in classrooms and meeting their intellectual and physical needs.”

The Government of Ontario is delivering more than $26.6 billion in education funding for the 2022-23 school year, which is the highest investment in public education in Ontario’s history.

“Our schools continue to attract families who wish to instill in their children the gift of a Catholic education,” said Marvin Duarte, Chair of the Halton Catholic School Board and Milton Trustee.

“We are grateful for the ongoing support and commitment of the Ministry of Education through the provision of funding to help us build new school buildings to better serve the needs of our Milton students and families.”

Milton #9 Catholic Elementary School will be located at Gordon Krantz Ave. and Kovachik Blvd. in Milton.
