The four teenagers who are suspected of causing over $15,000 in damages in just 20 minutes at the Heartland Forest Nature Experience Center in Niagara Falls on August 9 have been charged.

The quartet allegedly walked into the Heartland Forest Nature Experience Center on Heartland Forest Rd at roughly 12:15 a.m. and damaged the property.

Police allege suspects damaged the exterior of the property, throwing garbage bins and park benches into a pond. Police say they also caused damage to a statue, a wooden bridge, and signage, as well as broke windows and damaged roof shingles and a mini putt golf course.

While disguised with hoodies and masks in a low-light situation, Niagara Police believe they have caught the four suspects.

Devon McIntyre, 19, of St. Catharines has been charged with mischief over $5,000, as has Paul Brunning, 18, of Welland, a 17-year-old male from Welland and a 17-year-old male from St. Catharines.

All four were released from custody with future court dates.

The Youth Criminal Justice Act of Canada prohibits the Niagara Region Police Service from releasing the identities of the 17-year-old teens in this matter.

The final estimate for repair and replacement of damaged items at Heartland Forest is $15,000.
