Forge FC Hamilton re-sign Mississauga-native, Klaidi Cela to full-time contract

Hamilton's Forge FC re-signed Canadian Klaidi Cela for the remainder of the 2021 season. The 22-year-old defender was playing on a short-term replacement player contract for the Canadian Premier League club.

Hamilton’s Forge FC announced Friday (Oct. 8) the team has re-signed Canadian Klaidi Cela for the remainder of the 2021 season.

The 22-year-old defender was playing on a short-term replacement player contract for the Canadian Premier League (CPL) club.

Cela has made 13 total appearances for Forge FC over three seasons (2019-21), including 11 in CPL play, one in Concacaf League, and one Canadian Championship match, registering one goal and one assist overall.

The 6-3 native of Mississauga, Ontario has also spent time with Sigma FC in League 1 (2018, 2021), two seasons with Grupo Desportivo da Gafanha in the Campeonato de Portugal (2016-2018), and USL’s Toronto FC II in 2015.

He also participated in Canada’s U-15 (2013-14) and U-18 (2015-16) national team development camps.

Forge’s climb to the top of the CPL table continues holiday Monday (Oct. 11) when they visit Valour FC in Winnipeg for a 3 p.m. kick-off.
