Pearson Airport in Mississauga adds new flights to Chicago

Edmonton-based Flair Airlines is bumping up its business at Pearson Airport in Mississauga, promising the addition of nonstop flights to 19 destinations across North America.

In an announcement today, the discount carrier said it’s also adding two new aircraft out of Pearson, and two other aircraft, as it dramatically expands its services.

The four new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, to be in the air next spring, will bring Flair’s fleet count to 16. The additions will allow the airline to expand its routes offered by about one-third.

Air fares to U.S. destinations start between $99 to $129 for one-way tickets, while many one-way Canadian flights are available for $49, including taxes and fees.

With the addition of new aircraft across Canada, and the additional flights, Flair says it will create 150 new jobs for pilots, flight attendants and operational support staff.

Starting in April 2022, the carrier will offer direct flights from Pearson to Nashville and Denver two and three times a week, respectively, and also to San Francisco. Non-stop flights to Victoria, B.C. will follow one month later.

Flair officials say the airline will grow to serve 28 destinations by next spring, with more flights coming out of Edmonton, Vancouver and Kelowna.

Craig Bradbrook, chief operating officer at the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, which runs Pearson, said in a statement that, “We are excited to welcome Flair’s new routes as they expand their network and offer Canadians more options to travel to the U.S. as well as the picturesque destination of Comox, B.C.”
