Several areas in Mississauga are among those with the highest COVID-19 percent positivity rates (percentage of positive COVID-19 tests in the area) in Ontario, according to recent data from Toronto-based research group ICES.
ICES listed postal codes in Ontario with the highest percent positivity rates for the week of February 14 to 20.
Of the top 50 listed, five are in Mississauga (one more than during the previous week):
L4W at 7.99% (area of Highway 401 and Pearson Airport)
19th highest percent positivity area in Ontario (not listed during previous week)
L4T at 7.54% (area of Goreway and Morning Star)
25th highest percent positivity area in Ontario (not listed during previous week)
L5C at 6.74% (area of Central Pkwy W and Erindale Station Rd)
36th highest percent positivity area in Ontario (not listed during previous week)
L4Y at 6.60% (area of Tomken and Dundas St E)
40th highest percent positivity area in Ontario (not listed during previous week)
L5V at 6.55% (area of Britannia Rd W and Terry Fox Way)
42nd highest percent positivity area in Ontario (48th during previous week)
For at least three weeks in a row, Peel has remained the region with the highest COVID-19 percent positivity out of all of Ontario’s public health units.
