Local residents looking to start a new tradition are encouraged to participate in a “first-day winter hike” event in Oakville on Jan. 1, 2023.

Participants will be guided by guest hike leader Rhonda McMahon of Stride and Stretch which aims to inspire people to get outdoors and connect with nature.

The hike will take place at Bronte Creek Provincial Park, located at 1219 Burloak Dr. and will last approximately an hour and a half.

It will aim to get participants’ hearts pumping and muscles stretching on the first day of the year.

While participants are encouraged to bring friends or family members along with them for the hike, it is also an opportunity for those flying solo to make new friends.

The event will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and all ages are welcome.
