The Festival of Friends is making a triumphant return to its traditional three-day format at Gage Park in Hamilton, and organizers announced Monday they have finalized this year’s schedule and list of performers.

Serena Ryder, Hamilton’s own Monster Truck, and Gord Bamford are headlining the three nights (Ryder on Friday, Monster Truck on Saturday, and Bamford on Sunday).

Other artists that will be featured in the all-Canadian lineup include Snotty Nose Rez Kids, The Red Hill Valleys, George Canyon, and more.

This year’s event will feature three stages: Main, Tim Hortons Bandshell, and OLG Unplugged.

In 2020, the festival was cancelled due to COVID-19, and in 2021, programming was contained to just one day in September.

At the time, it was the city’s first major post-lockdown event.

Now in its 46th season, the Festival of Friends, one of Hamilton’s most popular summer arts and music festivals, has been at Gage Park since 1976, aside from a six-year stint at Ancaster Fairgrounds.

This year, the festival takes place over the Civic Holiday weekend, July 29 to 31, and, as always, is free to attend.
