Fatal shooting claims life of taxi driver in Oshawa

Police are investigating a deadly shooting that took place in central Oshawa on Friday afternoon, Jan. 21.
At approximately 3:20 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at King Street East near Central Park Boulevard.
A 57 year old male was found beside a taxi with obvious signs of trauma.
“Emergency Services worked on the male before transporting him to a local hospital. Despite best efforts by medical staff, the victim was pronounced dead,” said police.
A suspect was located near the scene and taken into police custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
