If you were planning to spend some time outdoors this afternoon, you might want to be sure you have an umbrella handy.
Environment Canada recently announced that a special weather statement is in effect for Mississauga and Brampton.
The weather agency says heavy showers or thunderstorms could occur this afternoon.
"Isolated showers and thunderstorms are forming along a stationary boundary," Environment Canada says.
"Local rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 mm are possible this afternoon and early this evening due to slow moving storms."
So be sure to keep an eye on the weather if you plan on venturing outside later today.
