The express train service to and from Pearson Airport in Mississauga is mostly back on track after being unavailable to passengers on Saturday and part of Sunday.

Pearson Airport officials said late Sunday that the Union Pearson Express, the rail link that connects the airport to Union Station in the heart of downtown Toronto, has resumed 30-minute service after being suspended on Saturday due to unspecified “service issues.”

The rail line has been on “modified” service since last Tuesday due to “unexpected maintenance” and offering passengers trains every 30 minutes until further notice.

The train is making all stops between Union and Pearson, officials say.

“UP Express train service has been modified today because of limited availability of equipment due to unexpected maintenance,” UP Express officials said in a post to Twitter on Feb. 7.

The UP Express saw an increase in service as of April 2022 when two late-evening daily trips in each direction were added to the line.

The last eastbound trip each day departs Pearson at 11:27 p.m. while the final westbound trip will leave Union Station at 11 p.m.
