The next federal election is just three weeks away, and Elections Canada has begun mailing voter information cards to those eligible to vote.

These cards provide information such as when and where recipients will be voting, as well as information about the accessibility of their polling station.

All those who are registered to vote should receive their card in the mail at their current address by September 10.

Those who are unsure if they are registered, or those who wish to update their address, as well as those who would prefer to register to vote by mail, can do so online.

Anyone who receives a card with a spelling error, or for a person who is deceased or no longer lives at the address to which it was delivered, is instructed to contact the Elections Canada office in their electoral district.

In the event a polling location is changed, a new voter information card with the words “Replacement Card” printed on the bottom right corner will be sent to those affected.

Proof of identity and address is required in order to vote—voter information cards are not required, but voters are encouraged to bring them to facilitate faster service.
