Niagara Police responded to a report of gun shots in Port Colborne today (May 18) in the wee hours of the morning.

Probably expecting foul play, when police arrived in the Saturn Crescent area at 4:30 am, there was no injured body, no blood, no anything.

In fact, all they found was shells from six rounds on the ground to indicate a gun was fired.

Forensic detectives have been examining the scene and homes in the area since that time for any evidence that someone may have been shot.

They reported that a dark coloured SUV was seen leaving the area.

Officers are canvassing the area to obtain any surveillance footage.  Anyone (residents or businesses) in the area with closed circuit security cameras, doorbell video cameras, or dash cameras are asked to review their footage for suspicious activity for the period between 4 am and 5 am this morning.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact detectives by calling 905-688-4111, dial option 3, extension 1009395.
