A Whitby man faces several charges, including drug trafficking, after a traffic stop in the distant community of Marmora.

On the morning of May 1, OPP officers pulled over a car in Marmora. After an investigation, they arrested the driver and searched the car. Inside, police claim they found cocaine and an unspecified opioid, along with $4,800 in cash and drug paraphernalia. Police did not specify how much of each drug was allegedly in the car.

Morell Anthony Graham, 55, of Whitby, is charged with two counts of possession for trafficking, driving while suspended and possession of property obtained by crime.

Graham was stopped about an hour and a half away from his home. Marmora is some 130 kilometres northeast of Whitby, on the far side of Peterborough.

He will appear in a Belleville courtroom on May 2.
