Police appeal for witnesses after a cyclist was injured in a collision.

The driver of a car that collided with a cyclist in Uxbridge on Saturday remain unknown after they left the scene, leaving the cyclist on the roadside in critical condition.

Paramedics were called to Sandford Rd in Uxbridge, 300 metres west of Concession Rd, at 6 a.m. March 26. There EMS found the cyclist and transported them to hospital.

The cyclist was later taken to a Toronto trauma centre where they remain in critical condition.

When Durham police were later called the Collision Investigation Unit began looking into the crash. The CIU continues to collect evidence and has called on any witness to come forward.

Police have not released a description of the vehicle. However, investigators say it would have been damaged on the front passenger side.

Anyone with information about the collision can call D/Cst. Lee at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5231, of CrimeStoppers anonymously at  1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
