Driver in Brampton flees on foot after collision

A Peel Regional Police officer went to great heights to arrest a driver who had fled on foot after getting into a collision in Brampton.
Shortly after 8 p.m. on Friday, Peel police officers were searching for a suspect in a field after a two-vehicle collision at Airport Road and Steeles Avenue. One officer climbed a silo in order to improve their vantage point and espied the driver trying to hide in the field.
They were taken into custody and charges are pending.

UPDATE:
– Officer, being extremely resourceful, climbed a silo nearby for a higher vantage point
– Officer observed driver trying to hide in the field
– Driver now in custody

Failing to remain at the scene of an accident is an offence under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
