“Disturbing images and writing” are being circulated around an Ajax neighborhood prompting a police investigation.

Durham Regional Police reported the messages on May 11. They were discovered in a residential neighbourhood near Rossland Rd. and Ravenscroft Rd. They did not specify the nature of the materials but described them as “disturbing.”

“We are currently investigating,” police said, adding they will share more details as they become available.

These messages are the latest distressing imagery found in town after the discovery of antisemitic graffiti on May 9. This discovery prompted a condemnation from Mayor Shaun Collier who voiced his and council’s “disgust and disappointment.”

However, this graffiti was discovered on a trail near Achilles Rd. about seven kilometres southeast of Rossland Rd. and Ravenscroft Rd. Police have not commented on any possible connection.

Anyone with information about the materials can call police at 905-579-1520.
