The Town of Milton has received an application proposing a zoning by-law amendment to permit the development of two mixed-use buildings.

The applicant, 2613708 Ontario Limited, is proposing to redevelop the property, which is located at the northwest corner of Ontario St. S and Derry Rd. W.

The proposed mixed-use buildings would be in the form of two high-rise point towers on top of six and five-storey podiums, along with a third, four-storey mid-rise residential building.

The height of the towers is being proposed at 24 and 19 storeys fronting the intersection. The rear four-storey building would be at the back of the site set back to the existing three-storey townhouses, which would amount to a total of 649 residential units.

In addition to private amenity use space on the ground floors along Derry Rd. and Ontario St., the mixed-use buildings would also feature approximately 2,000 sq. m. of commercial uses.

As a result, 2613708 Ontario Limited has applied for both a Local Official Plan Amendment and a Zoning By-law Amendment to rezone the lands in order to redevelop the property.

The application is currently undergoing technical review by Town staff and agencies and is set to be discussed at an upcoming virtual statutory public meeting next month.

The meeting is set to take place on Monday, April 11, 2022, at 7:00 p.m.

While members of the public are being invited to provide their input to the public meeting, a decision on this application will not be made by Milton Council that day.

Those interested in participating may fill out the delegate request form. For assistance filling out the form, email the Town or call 905-878-7252 ext. 0. Forms must be submitted by  Thursday, April 7, 2022.
