Deadline to volunteer at Oakville, Milton, Halton Hills hospitals fast approaching

Volunteers are a vital part of how Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills hospitals are able to operate and provide care for local residents.
Halton Healthcare relies on volunteers to donate their time, skills and abilities and is now looking for more of these “caring and compassionate” individuals to submit a volunteer application.
The upcoming deadline to submit an application is this Friday (Aug. 12). The next intake period for volunteers is Jan. 1, 2023 to Feb. 12, 2023.
“With over 1,750 volunteers across our three hospitals, these caring and compassionate individuals enhance the patient experience,” Halton Healthcare said on its website.
“We receive overwhelmingly positive feedback from patients, visitors and our staff about how a volunteer smile changed an anxious moment before a procedure or how a volunteer’s compassion and respect made a staff member beam with pride to be a part of the healthcare team.”
Halton Healthcare has a volunteer organization for each of its three hospitals, including Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Milton District Hospital and Georgetown Hospital.

Each volunteer group is a registered charity which raises funds through numerous fundraising initiatives every year to help purchase equipment for its respective hospital.
