Danny Green, formerly a Toronto Raptor and now a Los Angeles Laker, is filming a documentary about his time in Canada. And, Brampton residents will recognize some of the shooting locations.

Green announced his documentary “Beyond the Arc” on Instagram and Twitter. The documentary will air in September on TSN.

To many Brampton residents’ surprise, some of the shots from the documentary was filmed in our city.

Famous Comedian Russell Peters has been showing Green around Brampton stopping at two major locations.

On August 26, the pair visited Sonny’s Drive-In, located at 21 Kennedy Road North. Since 1965, Sonny’s has offered the best cheeseburgers, double bacon cheeseburgers, steak on a kaiser, fish and chips, chicken fingers, fries and more. Peters and Green stopped by the restaurant to grab a quick bite including poutine and milkshakes, which they enjoyed outside on the picnic benches.

Earlier this month, Peters and Green visited Gurdwara Dasmesh Darbar, a Sikh temple located at 4555 Ebenezer Road in Brampton. The pair took many pictures with people attending the temple as well as the ceremonial readers.

Both scenes are shown in the trailer.

“For a lil under a year, Canada was my home and quickly became a special place for me. As an NBA player during the season we never really get a chance to explore the places we live. This summer I made it a priority of mine to really explore the culture and get to know Canada first hand,” writes Green on Instagram. “Special thank you to all the guest that took the time out to show me around their city.”

This summer I made it a priority of mine to really explore the culture and get to know Canada first hand. So yes I see all the “why is he still here” tweets, and No I didn’t forget that I’m a Laker lol. This summer was my time to get to know a country that showed me so much love. With that being said I documented all of my experiences, and you can check them out on TSN coming September. Special thank you to all the guest that took the time out to show me around their city.
