DAILY UPDATE: Two new public schools reporting COVID-19 cases in Burlington, Oakville, Milton on Oct. 12

Two new public schools in Halton are reporting COVID-19 cases for the first time, but the overall case count remains low.

There are now 14 cases among staff and students at Halton District School Board facilities in Burlington, Oakville and Milton.

Both Anne J. MacArthur and Maple Grove elementary schools are reporting new cases on Oct. 12.

The board continues to report zero closed classrooms.

A classroom is considered closed when the teacher and students have to spend at least 10 days quarantining at home and learning online.

“We do have some schools that have outbreaks in classrooms, but we don’t have any classes that are considered completely ‘closed’,” said a board spokesperson.

Elementary

  • Abbey Lane: 2 students
  • Anne J. MacArthur: 1 student
  • Falgarwood: 2 students
  • Irma Coulson: 1 students
  • James W. Hill: 1 student
  • Maple Grove: 1 staff
  • Pilgrim Wood: 1 student
  • WH Morden: 1 student
  • West Oak: 1 student

Secondary

  • MM Robinson: 1 student, 2 staff
