DAILY UPDATE: No new COVID-19 cases at public schools in Burlington, Oakville, Milton on Oct. 8

For the first time, the COVID-19 report remained unchanged at public schools in Burlington, Oakville and Milton.

The Halton District School Board reported 15 active cases this morning, Oct. 8. Eight schools have an active case among staff and students.

The board continues to report zero closed classrooms.

A classroom is considered closed when the teacher and students have to spend at least 10 days quarantining at home and learning online.

“We do have some schools that have outbreaks in classrooms, but we don’t have any classes that are considered completely ‘closed’,” said a board spokesperson.

Here’s a list of schools currently reporting at least one COVID-19 case:

Elementary

  • Abbey Lane: 2 students
  • Falgarwood: 2 students
  • Irma Coulson: 4 students
  • James W. Hill: 1 student
  • Pilgrim Wood: 1 student
  • WH Morden: 1 student
  • West Oak: 1 student

Secondary

  • MM Robinson: 1 student, 2 staff
