Demonstrations shut down major roads in Mississauga.

An elderly man hit by a vehicle this morning in Mississauga was sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A vehicle struck the man in his 80s as he was cycling in the Blueheron Boulevard and Loonlake Avenue area in Mississauga at 8:37 a.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 11), Peel Regional Police said in a tweet.

The man was transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries, police said. They later tweeted that his condition is now life-threatening. The driver remained on scene.
