COVID-19 map shows various new hotspots this week in Mississauga and Brampton

Peel Region has identified a number of areas with higher COVID-19 rates in Mississauga and Brampton.

The region’s interactive map was updated for the week of Nov. 14 to 20, with some hotspots reporting rates of up to 134.3 per 100,000.

According to Peel, the map shows a crude incidence rate defined as the total number of new cases within a specific time period divided by the total population and multiplied by 100,000.

For the week of Nov. 14 to 20, 153 new cases were reported in Mississauga and 96 were reported in Brampton.

261 cases were reported for the region overall.

For all Ontario residents, the overall percent positivity among those tested for COVID-19 during the week of Nov. 14 was 2.5%, up 0.2% from the previous week, according to Toronto-based research group ICES.

One-dose vaccine coverage rose to 85% by the end of October, and 82% of residents 12+ are fully vaccinated.
