COVID-19 is on the wane in Burlington, Oakville and Milton public schools.

The Halton District School Board reported only 14 active cases this morning, Oct. 6, down from 19 yesterday. Only seven schools have an active case among staff and students as four dropped off the list due to cases from earlier in the year being resolved.

One new school, Falgarwood, reported a new case.

The board continues to report zero closed classrooms.

A classroom is considered closed when the teacher and students have to spend at least 10 days quarantining at home and learning online.

“We do have some schools that have outbreaks in classrooms, but we don’t have any classes that are considered completely ‘closed’,” said a board spokesperson.

Here’s a list of schools currently reporting at least one COVID-19 case:

Elementary

  • Abbey Lane: 2 students
  • Falgarwood: 2 students
  • Irma Coulson: 4 students
  • James W. Hill: 1 student
  • Pilgrim Wood: 1 student
  • West Oak: 1 student

Secondary

  • MM Robinson: 1 student, 2 staff
