Last week on May 4, the news of a black Mustang tearing around in Fort Erie was all the talk with locals. There was even a Facebook post about it where witnesses talked about the deteriorating condition of the front and back bumpers.

While the police didn’t pursue the muscle car out of fear for public safety, they finally got news of the male driver and female passenger yesterday (May 9) after the pair got caught in Durham Region.

Colin Todd, 38, of Port Perry has been charged with dangerous driving, flight from police and obstruction.

Zeanka Havtur, 29, of no fixed address has been charged with break and enter, theft of motor vehicle, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and three counts of failing to comply with a release order.

Todd has been returned to  Niagara Police and is being held for a bail hearing today (May 10) via video link to the courthouse in St. Catharines.

Havtur will remain in the custody of the Durham Police.

“Detectives would like to thank the numerous community members who provided tips related to possible sightings of the suspect vehicle and the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) for their assistance with this investigation,” said Niagara Police.
