Milton council recently approved a motion to start a Milton Transit Steeles Ave. bus.
The motion, brought forward by Councillor Sameera Ali and seconded by Kristina Tesser Derksen, was approved at a council meeting on Dec. 6.
At the meeting, the motion received support from Councillors Rick Di Lorenzo, Zeeshan Hamid, Mike Cluett and Colin Best.
According to Ali, the cost for this bus will be shared 50 per cent with the Town of Halton Hills.
“Avenues will also be explored by staff to include public and private sector grant and funding opportunities to alleviate taxpayer burden,” said Ali on Twitter following the approval of the motion.
“This route will be the first of its kind to serve inter-municipality riders and will provide easy access to the Toronto Premium Outlets to commuters from Milton.”
