One person has been rushed to hospital and police are on the hunt for a man considered to be “armed and dangerous” after a double shooting this afternoon in the Meadowvale area of Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police have revealed very few details of the shooting, which took place at about 2:15 p.m. in the Argentia Rd./Winston Churchill Blvd. area in the northwest part of the city.
At around the same time, another double shooting that appears to be related took place just to the west, in Milton.
According to a Peel police tweet, two people were shot and one of them was then rushed to hospital in the Mississauga shooting. There’s no further word on their condition at this point.
There’s now a large police presence in the area as they search for the gunman, last spotted in a black Jeep Cherokee with licence plate “CLMZ 905.”
He is considered armed and dangerous, according to police.
Meanwhile, Halton Regional Police tweeted that a culprit driving a Jeep bearing the same licence plate was involved in a shooting in the Bronte Rd. S./Main St. area of Milton.
Anyone spotting the man is urged to call 911.
“It is imperative that if anyone sees the black Jeep Cherokee” to call 911 immediately, police said.
