Construction site assault leads to charge for Brampton man

A Brampton man has been charged after an alleged assault with a weapon at a worksite near Guelph last month.

Around 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 2., officers from the Wellington County OPP were called to a construction site on Rae Drive in Fergus, approximately 22 kilometres north of Guelph.

Police say there was “a disturbance” involving two people and one individual was assaulted with a weapon.

The victim suffered minor injuries and a 44-year-old Brampton man has been charged.

Dwayne P. Hazzard, 44, of Brampton has been charged with Assault with a Weapon. The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Guelph on March 8. None of the allegations have been proven in court.
