Confrontation in a car leads to charges for Oshawa man

A confrontation in a car in Northumberland County has led to charges for an Oshawa man.

According to Northumberland OPP, they received a call about a person in distress on Workman Rd. in the Township of Hamilton on Feb. 25. The township sits just north of Cobourg, about 65 kilometres east of Oshawa.

Officers and paramedics responded to the scene shortly after 1 p.m. They found the victim suffering minor injuries. The investigation discovered the victim and another person were in a car and got into a “confrontation,” per police.

This confrontation escalated into the assault of the victim. Police identified a suspect who they believe left the area before their arrival.

Del Ainsworth, 60 of Oshawa, is charged with assault and uttering threats of bodily harm.
