The community has come out to support the family of a 16-year-old Brampton girl killed in a crash in Milton.

Emma Jaden Amminson was one of three people who died in a two-vehicle crash in Milton on the Easter long weekend, according to a GoFundMe set up to support the family.

The crash happened at Sixth Line at Derry Road around 3:20 a.m. Saturday (March 30).

Police haven’t identified the victims in the crash. Halton Regional Police said an 18-year old Milton man and a 16-year-old girl from Brampton were travelling together in one vehicle, and a 26-year-old Milton man was in the other vehicle.

However, friends and family have created fundraisers for all three victims.

Emma is being remembered as a “bright light,” Vanessa Gale writes in the GoFundMe on behalf of the Amminson and Costa family.

“Her infectious laughter, compassionate heart, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of many,” Gale writes. “She had dreams and aspirations, and her potential was boundless. But in a cruel twist of fate, those dreams were cut short far too soon.”

Friends and community members are also remembering Emma.

“I’ll miss your laugh I’ll miss your good natured spirit and your kind heart,” one person wrote.

Her best friend recalls how when she was alone and had no friends in an after school program, Emma convinced her Mom to enrol her so she wouldn’t have to be alone.

“…she was such a sweet soul and would do anything for her loved ones,” the friend wrote.

The fundraiser was created to help the family cover the unexpected funeral costs.

Emma was in the vehicle with 18-year-old Jaydon Burger who is described as a vibrant soul whose “laughter, kindness, and zest for life” greatly impacted those around him.

In the other vehicle, Mousawar Ahmed, 26, was identified by a close friend of his sister Simran. He was unmarried and without a father figure, he took on the family responsibilities, including taking care of his two younger siblings.

A large memorial has grown at the site of the crash.
